Dr. Leonard A. Miller Centre

The Dr. Leonard A. Miller Centre is a rehabilitation facility which shares property with the Caribou Memorial Veterans’ Pavilion, a residence for the veterans of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Volunteer roles

Friendly Visiting

  • Visit with patients and residents to offer companionship and support. Activities may include conversation, reading, games puzzles and meal-time assistance.

Library Cart

  • Visit nursing units to provide patients and residents with reading material.

Occupational Therapy

  • Work with occupational therapy staff and patients during classes and select patient activities.

Physiotherapy

  • Interact with physiotherapy staff and patients through participation in various activities including patient classes.

Therapeutic Recreation

  • Assist with various leisure and recreational activities including community outings, musical events, movie nights, bingo dancing, and various seasonal events throughout the year.

Music/Entertainment

  • Share your musical talent by providing entertainment to residents and patients.
